It is essential that anyone that uses the Weld-Hit is properly trained and proficient for the task.
WARNING:
Results of Inter-run or HFMI peening may be ineffective if not done by a competent person.
Serious (and costly to fix) damage can be done to the structure/component if peening is applied incorrectly
With every purchase of a Weld-Hit kit, WQMS provides a comprehensive proficiency training and assessment package for Inter-run and HFMI Peening.
Proficiency records are issued and maintained via the MWC Portal.
This is a self managed delivery process, as detailed in the following document, or you can engage a welding supervisor to support you.
Online training is provided complimentary with every Weld-Hit purchase. See the Proficiency Delivery Guide for details
Each welder must complete the theory training and quiz before doing the practical assessment.
Each welder must complete a practical assessment coupon for one or both of the following
Inter-run and Surface Peening
HFMI Weld Toe Peening
A supervisor/assessor must examine the completed coupons and record whether all elements have been satisfactorily completed. See this link for instructions for supervisors/assessors
