It is essential that anyone that uses the Weld-Hit is properly trained and proficient for the task.
WARNING:
Results of Inter-run or HFMI peening may be ineffective if not done by a competent person.
Serious (and costly to fix) damage can be done to the structure/component if peening is applied incorrectly
With every purchase of a Weld-Hit kit, WQMS provides a comprehensive proficiency training and assessment package for Inter-run and HFMI Peening.
This is a self managed delivery process, using the online Proficiency Management for
Registration of personnel for peening proficiency training and assessment
Theory training and assessment
Practical assessments for HFMI Peening and Inter-run Peening
On successful completion of the assessments, personnel will be issued with a proficiency certificate.
Instructions are provided in the following document, or you can engage a welding supervisor to support you.
Online training is provided complimentary with every Weld-Hit purchase. See the Proficiency Delivery Guide for details
Each welder must complete the theory training and quiz before doing the practical assessment.
Each welder must complete a practical assessment coupon for one or both of the following
Inter-run and Surface Peening
HFMI Weld Toe Peening
A supervisor/assessor must examine the completed coupons and record whether all elements have been satisfactorily completed.
WQMS recommends using your mobile phone to access the online tool for practical assessments so you can easily take photos of the completed assessment coupons.
