Augmenting AINDT and ISO9712 training

Existing training to industry standards is largely based on fabrication related defects. There has been nothing for NDT companies and asset managers to train and upskill their technicians to be competent for in-service inspection of assets for fatigue cracking. 

To meet this need, WQMS has developed a unique training package for in-service inspection of plant and equipment for fatigue cracking and damage. It is based on decades of industry experience in inspections, failure analysis, and asset management 

Technicians and inspectors who complete this training will have the following knowledge

• Where to inspect based on the asset design and operation, and where stress concentrators exist

• Understanding cleaning requirements 

• What to look for as tell-tale signs of fatigue cracking

• How to verify cracking

• Identification of likely crack initiation location(s)

• How to estimate crack depth

• Methods for crack depth measurement
